In much the same way that military
brats were raised, my family moved
often and to very unfamiliar places.
That gave me an appreciation for the
great diversity in life but also a
curiosity about what else is over the
next hill. I grew up, for the most part,
in Europe until my high school years.
I attended Pratt Institute for one year.
After a few years in the Army, again
in Europe, I moved to Colorado then to
California where I graduated from
Berkeley with a BFA. After a few more
years in California, I moved to
Washington DC to work as an architectural
illustrator. In 1990 I began freelancing
as a mural painter and illustrator. Last
summer, I was asked to paint three murals
in Warrenton, depicting Col. Mosby and
aspects of the Civil War.
